ABOUT CALVARY CHAPEL DICKINSON

Our History

Pastor Ron Hodson came to Dickinson with his wife Stephanie, sons Joseph and Joshua, and with a heart to serve the Lord. In 2008 God blessed this family with another little boy child, our equally beloved Corban.

In August of 2002, Ron went to his senior pastor at Calvary Chapel Bible Fellowship in Temecula, California, Pastor Clark Van Wick, and said he believed the Holy Spirit was leading him and his family to plant a Calvary Chapel in Dickinson, North Dakota.

Clark in his uniquely subtle style replied "So why are you still here?" So in September of that year Ron and the family took a trip to Dickinson to pray over the city, seeking the Lord's guidance and confirmation. Boy did they get it! God did a work on all their hearts, and they felt a huge love for the people and the area well up inside their hearts. Even 11 year old Joseph on the way back home said "So, when we movin' here?"

Fast forward to the present day, and we continue to be blown away at what God has done in this place and in our hearts. We meet every Sunday morning, an ever  growing, by the grace of God,  group of saints, come to praise Him, study His word, and fellowship over the best coffee in southwest North Dakota!

The word of God takes a position of preeminence at CCD, and we continue to faithfully study the New  Testament every Sunday, and we continue to see the power of His word change hearts and lives. Likewise the Holy Spirit continues to bless this flock during our Wednesday night, in depth verse by verse study of the Old Testament scriptures.

It is our desire that, more importantly than growing in size, that Calvary Chapel Dickinson continue to grow in the love and grace of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; that we be constantly obedient to the leading of the Holy Spirit; and that we keep seeking the kingdom and righteousness of our heavenly Father.
